I am passionate of Paris and love to share my discoveries. Walking allows to take the time necessary to understand and see what's around.
I am not a professional guide. I just like sharing what I like.
Let's meet to discover one of the most laborious and liveliest part of Paris !
Le "Sentier" is the part of Paris bounded on the east by the rue Saint-Denis ", the" royal road ", which has long been the most beautiful, the longest and the richest in Paris, by which the sovereigns made their entry into the capital - which is largely between the wall of Philip Augustus and Charles V. Its past has sometimes been agitated - the tower Jean-sans-Peur evokes the inexpiable hatred between the dukes of Burgundy and Orleans in the early 15th century - but today is one of the liveliest places in the capital.
Thus, near the major boulevards, the district of the Sentier is now a breeding ground for textile stores ... In recent years, commercial activity has diversified. Many Internet start-ups have also elected home renaming the neighborhood, "Silicon Sentier". The area is also crossed by the streets of Cairo, Aboukir and the Nile. They evoke the expedition of Napoleon in Egypt in 1798. The neighborhood of the Sentier is particularly popular with a street well known to Parisians: rue Montorgueil. Bakeries, cafés, restaurants, groceries make this pedestrian street picturesque. It has become nowadays a “must” for those who want to immerse themselves in the Parisian way of life.
